Choose San Vincenzo as the place to spend your vacation.
SOME GOOD REASONS
We can tell how many inhabitants there are, the distances from the main art cities and the distance in Km. If you are not sure about where to spend your vacation, this information will not affect your selection.
To let you know if San Vincenzo is the right choice, we decided to give you some advice on what we think “makes the difference.”
Here are some reasons why San Vincenzo is among the favorite destinations on the Tuscan coast:
RIMIGLIANO PARK:
Just outside the town, you’ll find a 6 km long WWF pine forest with free access directly to the sea, equipped with picnic tables, restrooms and a cafe. The vegetation is Mediterranean scrub; the shrubs come gently down to the sand dunes, the beach is clear, and the waters are transparent.
Many travelling in the high season take advantage of the park’s strategic location to spend the whole day by the sea and, during the hottest hours, shelter from the sun in the shade of oak trees.
In the cooler and more crowded periods, the area attracts sportsmen who take advantage of the fitness trail marked by specific signs to keep fit. The park is also accessible by bicycle; with children it becomes a pleasant walk.
BECAUSE IT'S EASY TO REACH:
San Vincenzo is one of the few tourist towns of the coast where the train station is in the center, on the street parallel to the pedestrian zone and the marina, a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The village layout makes life easier for those who want to travel by train. From the station, everything is at your fingertips!
FOR DAILY SIGHTSEEING TOURS
To the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago and Corsica. From the port, you can visit the Islands conveniently and without too much difficulty; you can also book trips by motorboat that are organized on land.
BECAUSE SEASIDE STROLLS ARE BEAUTIFUL!
Stroll a short distance and find yourself in the midst of the sea: the route starts from the square north of the harbor the lighthouse on the entrance of the harbor. Many say that the sea view gives a sense of freedom and peace.
BECAUSE THE DOLPHINS GREET YOU IN SAN VINCENZO
Due to the large presence of cetaceans such as whales, dolphins, sperm whales and sea turtles, the municipality of San Vincenzo was the first town in Italy to sign the Pelagos Sanctuary Partnership Charter, which provides for the protection of marine mammals, sea turtles and their habitat. Without going far, it is easy to find groups of dolphins that follow the boats. The first sea turtle nest in the 2018 Tuscany breeding season was found in June on the San Vincenzo beach.
BECAUSE EVEN IN BAD WEATHER:
There is always something interesting to do: mine excursions at the Archaeological Park of San Silvestro, a tour of the Museo Archeologico di Piombino, visits to famous wine cellars of Bolgheri, Suvereto, and the Etruscan coast, or relaxation at Venturina or Sassetta. In an hour and a half drive, you can arrive in Florence and Siena. Pisa and Volterra are less than an hour away, and you can reach many other interesting artistic centers within half an hour.
SAN VINCENZO IS SAID TO BE THE LEAST RAINY VILLAGE ON THE TUSCAN COAST!
Being in a ventilated area and protected by the island of Elba (west) and the hills (east), the clouds typically move past us quickly without creating any major inconvenience.
